International Women's Day 2020 with Pink Link
Today I headed to Roundthorn Country House near Penrith to celebrate International Woman's Day with the amazing woman of Pink Link.
The theme for this year's International Women's Day is Each for Equal, taking time to look at how we can create a more equal world and how we as individuals can actively challenge stereotypes.
We began with open relaxed networking saying hello to old friends and making some new ones, some of the businesses had showcases set up and there was plenty of time to get around everyone to chat about their company.
The speakers for the day were Catherine Houlihan and Samantha Parker of ITV Border, who were discussing putting your self forward as a business leader, the lack of females voices in the news and the efforts their news agency was going to create an equal representation in their programming.
The keynote speaker for the day was Rosie Dummer of Rosie Cake Diva. I'd seen Rosie before at last years Eva Awards but didn't know her full story, wow what a life this lady has led so far. I say so far as she hinted of some of the things she has to come and I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more of Rosie real soon. Not only has she had an amazing life going from Army helicopter pilot in battle zones to world-renowned cake baker, but she is a powerhouse of enthusiasm and infectious joy. Her talk left me in awe of everything she'd achieved but also very inspired about how we can use our experiences for the greater good and inspire our children in the future.
Thank you Pink Ladies, hold to see you again soon and the goodie bag certainly did hold a few surprises.
